Korean welterweight Dong Hyun Kim has received a four-fight contract extension with the UFC, according to a report from the Korea Times.

Kim has won five of his six fights in the Octagon, with one no contest against Karo Parisyan due to Parisyan's use of disallowed painkillers prior to the fight.

His most recent appearance saw him earn a decision victory over Nate Diaz at UFC 125 on New Year's Day.

"Kim still has one match remaining according to the original agreement with the UFC, but the organization offered to extend his contract with satisfactory conditions,? Kim?s management, IB Sports said in the report.

The 29-year-old made his UFC debut in May of 2008, and now he's locked up for more fights as he continues his climb up the welterweight ladder.

Penick's Analysis: Good for Kim, who has done nothing but find ways to win in the UFC outside of the Parisyan fight. He's a very big welterweight who knows how to use his size and grappling ability to control the pace and location of his fights, and he's going to continue climbing up the ladder and being a challenge to anyone the UFC matches him up against.
