Jake Shields comments on UFC 137 shake up for teammate Nick Diaz

In a video interview with KNOXX, Jake Shields gave his thoughts on his teammate Nick Diaz getting taken out of his UFC 137 fight with Georges St-Pierre and being put into a bout with B.J. Penn (transcribed at BJPenn.com):

"I really wanted to see that fight, as most people. I think everyone was excited to see Nick vs. GSP. Condit and St-Pierre is a good fight too, but obviously most people would probably agree that its not as good a fight... I think Dana is a smart guy and mostly fair. I don't know the details, but hopefully Nick learns from what he's done and moves forward and gets himself another title shot... I just heard that [Nick was fighting B.J.] two minutes ago and I am very happy about that. I was worried Nick would get dropped from the UFC after that. So, it's good that he gets a chance to redeem himself and that's a great fight as well. It's a tough fight, but I think Nick sets too high of a pace for B.J. I think he'll overwhelm him and tire him down and beat B.J."

Strikeforce 9/10 Results: Pat Healy plays spoiler again, submits Maximo Blanco in Cincinnati

For the second time in three fights, Pat Healy played spoiler in the Strikeforce cage, choking out Maximo Blanco at Strikeforce "Barnett vs. Kharitonov" in the second round to hand the debuting Venezuelan his first submission loss. The back and forth fight saw Blanco deliver a lot of punishment in the first round, but a few illegal blows cost him a point and evened up the frame.

In the second, Healy pressed the action, took Blanco down on three separate occasions, and with the third rolled him through with a crucifix before locking on a rear naked choke for the submission. It was Healy's third straight win, and the loss snapped Blanco's six fight win streak.
